BAlaam the sone of Beor / as I fynde Commendeth so / in all his beste wyse Whan he sayde sothely / of the kynde Of worthy Iacob / a sterre sholde aryse And eke also / as he doth deuise Full openly / the Byble can you tell Howe that a yerde / out of Israhell.
¶ Shall springe also / to smyte and oppresse The elle dukes of Moab / with her might And he shall waste / in warre sothfastnesse The chyldren of Sethe / and of kynde right With the shyninge▪of his beames bright Conquere also / to his subieccion

¶ Ofydume for his heritage With many another riche regyon And of Seyr / the riche Baronage Shall to hym lowte / for his renowne So that this Sterte in conclusion Whiche in Bethleem / bright of sterres all The whiche aboue the litell Oxes stall.
