••yrst I knowlege myselfe gylty vnto almy∣ghty god / vnto our lady saynt Mary / and to all the cōpany of heuen / and to you my goostly fa∣ther: that syth the tyme of my laste confessyon I haue offended my lorde god greuously / and special¦ly in the .vij. deedly synnes.

•• Haue synned in pryde of herte / not lowly thā kynge god of gyf••es and cōnynge whiche he hath lent me. Also I haue synned in pryde of clo••tynge: in strength: in eloquēce: in beaute: in proud wordes. wherof I cry god mercy.

Also I haue synned in enuy: herynge ••ny man more praysed than I or better cherysshed with his souerayne than I ••or he had more prosperyte than I / & whan I haue mysanswered myn euen crystē reioysynge. wherof I cry god mercy.
