O My souerayne lorde Iesu / the veray sone of a••myghty god / & of the mo¦ost clene & gloryous vyrgyn Mary / that suffred the bytter deth for my sake & all mankynde vpon goost fryday / & rose agayne the thyrde daye. I beseche the lorde haue mercy vpon me that an a wreched synner but yet thy creature. And for thy precyous passyon saue me & kepe me from all peryl¦les bothe bodyly & goostly / and specyally from all tynges that myght tourne thy dyspleasure / & with all my herte I tanke the moost mercyfull lorde for thy grete mercyes that thou hast shewed me in te greate daūgers that I haue ben in / as well in my soule / as in my body. And that thy grace & endles mercy hath euer kept me / spared me & saued me fro the houre of my byrthe vnto this tyme. I beseche the lorde that thy mercy may kepe me for the al∣waye / and I cry the mercy with all my hole herte for my grete offenses / for my grete vnkyndenesse / & for all my wretched and synfull lyfe / & that I can not lede my lyfe as thy seruaunt I cry the mercy.
