THe Simphonye is an instrument of Musicke, and is made of an hollowe tree closed in leather on either side, and menstralls beateth it with stickes, and by accord of high and low, thereof com∣meth full sweete •o•ts, as Isi. saith: ne∣uertheles ye accord of all soundes be cal∣led Simphonia in like wise, as ye accord of diuers voyces is called Chorus, as the Glose saith sup.
