Nobilitata fuit quondam Pharos insula, vasto Circumscripta mari (priscum sed pontus & aestus Mutavere situm) saxis fundata cavatis Turris ubi celsas aequabat culmine nubes. Fulgebant illic rutilantis sideris instar Lumina, noctivagis procul aspicienda carinis: Sed non hic dubiis nautarum cursibus ignis Gratior in saevo direxit lintea ponto, Quàm quae conspicua Ptolemei fulsit in arce Bibliotheca, chori Pharos & cura unica docti, Vnde per immensum dispersa volumina mundum Praeclaram ingeniis lucem exeruere benignis. Nunc Pharos absorpta est, sunt diruta culmina turris Nullaque Musaei remanent vestigia tanti. Sed pia cura pii REGIS disjecta coegit Saxa Phari, atque novum Musis sacravit honorem, Erexitque lares sacros augustaque tecta, Invideat Pharii queis Bibliotheca tyranni, Instruxitque libris, quos mirarentur Athenae, Romaque Gothorum nondum pede pressa superbo: Ergo Pharo Pharos assurgat Memphitica Scotae, Et cedant sceptris AEgyptia sceptra Britannis.
