ANno igitur Domini 1331. disponente se praedicto fratre Odorico ad perficiendum iter suae peregrinationis, prout mente conceperat, & etiam vt via & labor esset sibi magis ad meritum, decreuit primò praesentiam adire Domini & patris omnium summi Pontificis Do∣mini Ioannis Papae 22. cuius benedictione obedlentiaque recepta cum societate fratrum se∣cum ire volentium ad partes infidelium se transferret: Cúmque sic eundo versus summum Pontisicem, non multum distaret à ciuitate Pisana, in quadam via occurrit sibi quidam senex in habitu peregrini eum salutans ex nomine, Aue (inquiens) frater Odorice: Et cùm frater quaereret quo modo ipsius haberet noticiam? Respondit, Dum eras in India noui te, tuúmque noui sanctum propositum; Sed & tu modò ad conuentum vndè venisti reuertere, quia die sequenti decimo ex hoc mundo migrabis. Verbis igitut senis attonitus & stupesactus, prae∣sertim cùm Senex ille statim post dictum ab eius aspectu disparuit; reuerti decreuit; Et re∣uersus est in bona prosperitate nullam sentiens grauedinem corporis, seu aliquam infirmita∣tem; Cúmque esset in conuentu suo V••inensi. Anno Domini 1331. decima quarta die mensis Ianuarij obijt in Christo Beatus Odoricus ordinis fratrum Minorum, cuius precibus omnipotens Deus multa, & varia miracula demon∣strauit; quae ego Guetelus notarius communis Vtini, filius domini Damiani de portu Grua∣rio, de mandato & voluntate nobilis viri Domini Conradi de Buardigio Castaldionis, & con∣silij Vtini, scripsi, sicut potui, bona fide, & fratribus Minoribus exemplum dedi; sed non de om∣nibus, quià sunt innumerabilia, & mihi difficilia ad scribendum.
