Multa insignia in moribus illorum, &c. Porrò etiam hîc fidem vestram eleuat ingeni∣um, ad asserendum res incompertas nimis procliue, cupidinem nouitatis, & nominis ac famae, imò veritatis curam preposteram arguit, omnium & rerum personarúm{que}, & temporum expe∣rientia: O scriptores suspiciendi.

Testes sunt leges poliicae, quibus inde ab initio cum Noruagis vsi sunt eisdem Islandi: De Rege & subditis: De foro, & his quae in forensem disceptationem cadere possunt: De haeredi∣tatibus: adoptionibus, nuptijs, furto, rapinis, mutuo, contractibus & caeteris: Quae omnia, quorsum illis, quibus res omnes sunt communes? Testes sunt, tot de bonis mobilibus & immobilibus contentiones, turbae & certamina, in foris ac iudicijs Islandorum: Testes sunt Reges nunc Daniae & olim Noruagiae, qui tot libellis supplicibus Islandorum, ad componen∣das istas de possessionibus controuersias, olim & nunc interpellati saepè fuerant. Testis contra seipsum Krantzius, cuius verba distinction .i. huius, haec fuerunt. Ante susceptam Christi si∣dem (Islandi) lege naturali viuentes parum à lege nostra discrepabant, &c. Si lege naturae, certè le∣ge illa iustitiae, quae tribuit vnicuique suum: Si lege iustitiae, certè proprietatum & dominio∣rum distinctiones in nostra gentelocum habuisse oportet: Quanquam autem in hanc ipsam le∣gem etiam in Ecclesia, & quidem satis atrociter, saepè delinquitur: tamen & Ecclesia & Ethni∣ci iustissimam & optimam esse semper fassi sunt.
