§. 5. Of watchfulnesse.

VVEe must beb 1.1 warchfull, and stand vpon our defence against our enemy; heec 1.2 as a thiefe will suddenly set vpon vs; comming when we are not aware of him.* 1.3 For the better performance of this duty, we mustd 1.4 take heed of such things as may breed in vs a spirituall slumbering and drowsinesse, as are earthly delights and pleasures, worldly cares, &c. They which will watch,e 1.5 must be sober.
