¶ The Description.
1 RIb-wort or small Plantaine hath many leaues flat spred vpon the ground, narrow, sharp pointed, and ribbed for the most part with fiue nerues or sinewes, and therefore it was called Quinque-neruia; in the middle of which leaues riseth vp a crested or ribbed stalke, bearing at the top a darke or dusky knap, set with a few such white floures as are the floures of wheat. The root and other parts are like the other Plantaines.
‡ There is another lesse kinde of this Rib-wort, which differs not from the last mentioned in any thing but the smallnesse thereof. ‡
2 Rose Rib-wort hath many broad and long leaues of a darke greene colour, sharpe pointed, and 〈◊〉〈◊〉 with fiue nerues or sinewes like the common Rib-wort; amongst which rise vp naked 〈◊〉〈◊〉 〈◊〉〈◊〉, chamfered, or crested with certaine sharpe edges: at the top whereof groweth a great and large tuft of such leaues as those are that grow next the ground, making one entire tuft
