FVLK. 24. Happy and thrise happy hath our En∣glish nation bene, since God hath giuen learned transla∣tors, to expresse in our mother tongue the heauenly my∣steries of his holy worde, deliuered to his Church in the Hebrew and Greeke languages. Who, although they haue in some matters of no importance vnto saluation, as men bene deceiued: yet haue they faithfully deliue∣red the whole substaunce of the heauenly doctrine, con∣teyned in the holy Scriptures, without any hereticall translations, or wilfull corruptions. And in the whole Bible among them all haue committed as fewe ouer∣sights for any thing that you can bring, and of lesse im∣portance, than you haue done onely in the newe Testa∣ment. Where beside so many omissions, euen out of your owne vulgar Latine translation, you haue taken vp∣on you, to alter that you founde in your texte, and tran∣slate that, which is onely in the margent, & is redde but in fewe written copies. As for Italia you say A••talia, no∣ted before Heb. 13. for placuerunt you translate latuerunt, 2. Pet.2. for coinquinationis which is in the text, you tran∣slate coinquinationes, which was founde but in one onely copie, by Hentenius, as the other but in one or two of thirtie diuerse copies, most written.
