Three of his writings are named further on: the Novum Organum (1620), Cogitate et visa (1607), and De augmentis scientiarum (a Latin translation of The Advancement of Learning , 1623). Bacon’s work underlies a good part of Diderot’s Pensées sur l’interprétation de la nature (1753).
