Description: In 1961, the China Opera and Dance Drama Theater (中国歌剧舞剧院) learned the dance drama Dagger Society (小刀会), originally premiered by the Shanghai Experimental Opera Theater (上海实验歌剧院) in 1959. Here, we see Fang Bonian (方伯年, b. 1936) playing the role of Yan Matai (晏玛太). The Ensemble revived this work in 1978.
