Cross currents.

The puppet-president Father Jozef Tiso addresses the parliament of Slovakia, which Hitler granted the status of an independent state during World War II. The man in the black uniform of the Hlinka Guard in the right corner is Dr. Vojtech Tuka, the Slovak prime minister. After World War II, both Father Tiso and Dr. Tuka were hanged.
