Exhibit 6 shows vaccine revenues by supplier. U.S. suppliers are very similar in size to
European competitors on a revenue basis. There are two reasons for this. First, the volume
advantage enjoyed by the Europeans is primarily in basic pediatric vaccines. For new, higher
priced vaccines, U.S. suppliers are competitive with European rivals. Second, U.S. suppliers
can achieve similar revenues for basic pediatric vaccines with far fewer doses, as the prices
charged in the U.S. are much higher.
