President Clinton Signs Executive Order for Creation of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS and Announces Twenty-Three Members of the Council
THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON August 10, 1995 Bruce Weniger, M.D. International Activity Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention Center for Disease Control and Prevention 1600 Clifton Road, N.W. Atlanta, Georgia 30333 Dear Bruce: Thank you for joining us at the White House for the inaugural meeting of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV and AIDS. I appreciate the time and the careful thought you and your colleagues put into our meeting. I have asked Patsy Fleming and her staff to review your proposals carefully and make recommendations for policy changes and any other appropriate action. As I said when we met, this is not the time to slow down or retreat in our battle against HIV and AIDS. Each of us must do all that we can to end this terrible epidemic, and your participation on the Advisory Council is a vital element in our national response. I look forward to continuing to work with you on this issue of critical importance to the country. Sincerely,
