On page 3, in the last paragraph:
"Because of AIDS' long incubation period, it will take years
to know if a vaccine works."
This is incorrect: if a vaccine works, we will know it when
persons engaged in high risk activities, who have previously
tested negative, stop becoming infected. The vaccine is to
prevent infection rather than AIDS, which may develop from
infection. I would rewrite the whole paragraph, (last paragraph
on page 3, first paragraph on page 4) as follows:
Now, although science is capable of breathtaking advances;
its not capable of miracles. There are many things which
must be learned before a vaccine can be developed. This is
a problem which money cannot overcome, because time will be
needed to permit these developments, and we can't say, right
now, how much time that will be. We are told that we
probably won't have a vaccine until the middle of the next
decade, at the earliest.
