Dear Senator:
I am writing to strongly urge you to support
passage of the National Institutes of Health
(NIH) Reauthorization Bill (S.1), unanimously
approved this week by the Committee on Labor and
Human Resources, with the inclusion of the AIDS
research reforms.
The American Foundation for AIDS Research
(AnFAR) has thoughtfully examined the NIH
research effort and concluded that provisions to
strengthen the Office of AIDS Research are
essential and urgent.
