1 other lytic activities, to me, at least, this is an
2 area where one needs to look at the issue of
3 functional antibody.
4 And I personally believe because of what
5 we've seen in the seronegative patient, in which
6 there's a lot of linear epitopes that are induced that
7 are not confirmational in nature, that this is an area
8 of investigation that needs to be pursued much more
9 vigorously.
10 Next slide, T cell responses, as measured
11 by lympho-prolific responses to gp 160, the immunogen
12 themselves for local vaccination. There has not been
13 any reported data to the whole virus itself.
14 More recently, obviously, Fred and Tom
15 have reported rise of DTH responses and rise in
16 cytotoxicity, which is a very interesting and
17 intriguing observation. And other vaccines, including
18 gp 120 proteins as well as non-glycosylated proteins,
19 appear to elicit similar responses.
20 Next slide. The use of immunogens as
21 therapy is a new and interesting approach to therapy.
