2 CO-CHAIRMAN FAUCI: Thank you very much,
3 Fred. Again, before we go on, if there are any
4 technical questions -- I had one question, Fred, vis
5 a vis the possibility that your nonspecifically
6 activating and stimulating the immune response.
7 Did you look and see if you actually
8 boosted the response to other relative antigens that
9 the individual may have been immunized -- The
10 Hepatitis control is a control for another stimulus,
11 but did you boost your responses to candider and PPD
12 in PPD positive people?
13 DR. VALENTINE: That was looked at in ever
14 patient, and these individuals, you remember, had to
15 have proliferative responses to a panel of microbial
16 antigens, to begin with. There is no meaningful
17 difference between the pre- and post. There are
18 fluctuations, as you know, and occasionally striking
19 ones, in different patients; but nobody went up
20 tenfold even, two or threefold, at best.
