[Minutes, Advisory Committee to the Director GP-160 Meeting (1992: Bethesda, Maryland)]

51 1 I did not mention it, but lymphocytes 2 acquire the ability to produce IL-2 and Interferon 3 when stimulated in vitro with the immunogen, not 4 surprising in light of the proliferative responses. 5 The final slide, please, shows that there 6 is increased T-Cell cytotoxicity to the envelope 7 expressing autologous targets. I might mention that, 8 to a smaller degree, increased CTL, both CD4 and CD8 9 media in CTL, were seen also against gag-proteins, 10 paralleling the proliferative response data for P-24 11 that I presented. 12 Individuals -- essentially, all of them -- 13 developed delayed type hypersensitivity to gp-160. 14 These individuals developed a quite striking delayed 15 type hypersensitivity to one, three or, occasionally, 16 ten micrograms that were required. That was seen in 17 only one individual -- or two individuals, rather, who 18 received the Hepatitis B vaccine, 32 micrograms, an 19 development, as you've seen, of antibodies to 20 additional HIV envelope determinants and increased 21 titers of antibodies, determinants against which 22 antibodies already exist.
