2 Let's start with lymphoproliferative
3 responses. These are proliferations of T-Cell
4 lymphocytes thought to be indicative of immunologic
5 memory to the HIV immunogen. In each of the trials
6 there has been evidence of this seen.
7 With respect to antibody, that is, binding
8 or humoral antibody, all of the trials have seen the
9 induction o either antibodies to new epitopes or
10 increased levels of antibodies to previously
11 recognized epitopes. However, there has been little
12 consistent evidence reported to date of functional --
13 that is, neutralizing -- antibodies.
14 Delay-type hypersensitivity, a measure of
15 the other major arm of the immune system, has been
16 seen to be increased in two trials. Cytotoxic T17 lymphocytes have been observed, and you'll hear more
18 about that in the one trial where they have been
19 reported.
20 With respect to viral load, we have
21 evidence of either proviral genomic material, DNA
22 tests of that, but no evidence of change in two
