1 survival with the vaccinated group, recalling again
2 the vaccinated group received the vaccine two weeks
3 after the initial infection and no difference from the
4 control group.
5 The outcome was the same, whether one
6 measures survival, viral burden or immune responses.
7 So this is typical of the other experiments that have
8 been done. Therefore, at this point we have no
9 support from animal model experiments for this
10 concept.
11 Let's now turn to talk about clinical --
12 what's going on in humans. In the next slide we will
13 now look at what are the vaccine candidates -- the
14 first of two slides, to be specific -- which are being
15 evaluated or proposed to be evaluated in HIV
16 seropositives.
17 Here we focus on the envelope products.
18 That is, vaccines primary composed of the HIV
19 envelope. We see that there are eight vaccine
20 candidates from four different manufacturers. Six of
21 these have actually been in humans, and two, the
22 starred candidates, actually have data reported to
