2 I think that we need this committee to
3 deliberate on this. And if we need other expertise to
4 help in that decision-making process, we can form
5 subcommittees. We can do whatever your pleasure is.
6 We ask you to participate in the process,
7 and you could get back to either Dr. Carpenter or Dr.
8 Fauci over the next several days or weeks and suggest
9 other processes or mechanisms that we might use to
10 move quickly to come up with some concrete and
11 specific recommendations.
12 One thing I clearly heard from all of you
13 today, though, is that we do want to respond to the
14 Congress with regard to what we think would be the
15 appropriate ideas for that $20 million.
