2 a simple principle. It's much better to affirm than

4 If there are concerns about what has
5 transpired with gp 160, the more important issue is we
6 have to come up with a positive step to deal with
7 vaccines for AIDS patients. I think I've heard that
8 already from everybody around the room.
9 The challenge is to make sure that the
10 advice that we transmit to the Congress is not just an
11 academic response, "Oh, this isn't ripe" or "This
12 isn't right," but, really, in an affirmative way, what
13 is the best action that we should take to advance the
14 cause of AIDS research and to move quickly on the
15 vaccine front, which I'm hearing repeatedly from
16 listening to this dialogue for the past several hours
17 is something that we need to move on.
18 CO-CHAIRMAN FAUCI: That's why it will not
19 be a "Yes" or "No" answer. It will be, as Dr. Healy
20 said, recommendations about which way we should go.
