1 Are you suggesting that we wait until we
2 get answers to them before going on? You're talking
3 about a parallel approach that we do not abandon
4 trying to find out if we're dealing -- yes, we all
5 agree with that from an immunological and a policy
6 standpoint.
7 I just wanted to make one comment to bring
8 around the loop a little because Luis Santiago
9 addressed Susan Ellenberg and said: When are you
10 going to do this trial? We need to do it right away.
11 I just think to inject some reality in
12 here, Susan Ellenberg works for the NIH, and we don't
13 have $20 million to do a trial.
14 (Laughter.)
15 CO-CHAIRMAN FAUCI: We're here in the
16 committee to give advice to Dr. Healy regarding what
17 she will transmit to the Congress. But, of course, we
18 would be very willing to lend any expertise or any
19 resources or any collaborative effort that is
20 appropriate for this particular endeavor.
