3 The second point that I would like to make
4 is that I think coming from an oncology perspective,
5 immune endpoints are great, but they don't mean
6 anything unless you can correlate them with some sort
7 of clinical endpoints. I think that we should try to
8 develop clinical endpoints and then correlate them
9 back to whatever immune endpoints we're looking at.
10 The third, in terms of immune endpoints,
11 one thing we have learned in tumor immunology or,
12 let's say, we haven't learned is to try to look at
13 organ-specific endpoints.
14 We are looking at floating CD4 counts.
15 But what does that mean, actually, in terms of, let's
16 say, mucosal immunology in terms of, let's say,
17 whatever particular organ-specific endpoints one wants
18 to look at in HIV?
19 The last point that I wanted to make was
20 that we are talking about a number of confounding
21 variables. One doesn't know what AZT, for example,
22 does on reactivity to vaccines. I think that should
