4 MR. SANTIAGO: Okay. I think that's one
5 of the most important things that this committee has
6 to do. I mean, I think it's very important that we
7 look at all of the data, but it's also very important
8 that we don't get stuck looking at the data for months
9 and months and we don't start this large, simple
10 trial. I mean, if people can only get minimal
11 benefit, it's going to make a substantial difference.
12 So we have proposed, in particular, in our
13 joint statement that Mark referred to that by January
14 15, 1993 we should have enough information to
15 determine what immunogens we could use in this trial.
16 CO-CHAIRMAN CARPENTER: That ' s, again, the
17 theme, "Don't let the best hold back the good," I
18 think.
