ANNUAL REPORT
Dear Reader,
It is a pleasure for me to add my comments to this annual report. I have only one
criteria by which I evaluate a program or organization: its effectiveness. I can say with
total certainty that Americans for a Sound AIDS/HIV Policy is the most effective
AIDS/HIV organization that I know.
Not only has it moved the scientific and medical communities to embrace the
value of early diagnosis, but it is effecting a proper response from all in dealing with
people who are found to carry the HIV virus. It's hallmark is a balanced approach in
weighing the needs of those who are HIV positive with those who are uninfected by
employing the fundamental tenets of medicine.
ASAP is rapidly taking a leadership position in this issue, and in my opinion will
be the undisputed leader in the years ahead. I would encourage you to join this able
team in effecting more rapid change in policy direction as well as offering help to those
who suffer as a result of the HIV epidemic.
