Important Advisory to Patients and Researchers:
Virtually all of our participating physicians perform research projects in addition to those they do through SEARCH Alliance. Our organization takes no
responsibility for any research trials other than those officially sanctioned by our Medical Review Board. A complete listing of these trials can be found in
this issue of SEARCHLIGHT.
Patients should be particularly cautious about doctors who charge either for medications or for participation in a trial. There is never a charge for particip
ing in a SEARCH trial. If you have questions as to whether something is an official SEARCH trial, contact the SEARCH office. Scientists and researchers should
be cautioned that no physician or other individual is permitted to represent SEARCH without the official sanction of our Medical Review Board or Board of
Directors. While all people have the freedom and the right to investigate any potential AIDS treatment, no one may enter into negotiations of any kind as our
representative without the explicit sanction of SEARCH.
