The number of vaccines tested to date by NIAID in PREVENTIVE trials is 17
16 by AVEG
2 by intramural (but only one of these not tested by AVEG)
Approximately 12 other candidate vaccines have been tested worldwide in uninfected humans to our knowledge.
Of these, most are very similar to candidates tested by NIAID. The more unique ones include V3 peptides
conjugated to carriers such as PPD or pseudomonas toxin A and the p17 peptide HGP30.
