[Memorandum to Acting Deputy Director for Intramural Research, NIH from F. William Dommel, Jr.]
Annotations Tools
such a supposition. No paper resembling that which Mr. CREWDSON showed to us has been found in the dossier of the patient. There have been a total of three necroses, and not four, as Mr. CREWDSON leads one to believe. The list of the patients whose names begin with the letter A does not correspond to the patients treated with immunotherapy (a much smaller number). It could have--without certainty--come from the laboratory of Prof. Zagury, where the patients having a blood test in view of possible inclusion in the protocol are indexed by alphabetical order (eight names begin with the letter A on the list that has been communicated to us). Mr. CREWDSON, to whom no medical information was given, will continue his investigation in France; 'he proposes to search for and meet all the families of the patients who received mw? immunotherapy. While it is difficult to predict the exact words of the article which will appear in the Chicago Tribune, one can suppose that Mr. CREWDSON will continue to "indict" the French physicians working with Prof. GALLO.
