The day-long meeting, "Adherence to New HIV Therapies: A Research Conference," will bring together representatives from research, clinical practice, the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare providers, and HIV-affected communities in a focussed scientific discussion of the medical and behavioral issues involved in adherence to HIV treatment regimens. The purpose of this conference is to address the challenges of HIV therapy adherence, hear from those who are personally affected or who work with individuals struggling to adhere to HIV therapy regimens, and discuss the research programs and interventions that should be implemented to help the hundreds of thousands of Americans with HIV who might benefit from antiviral combination drug regimens. The Challenqes of HIV Druq Therapy Adherence Recent advances in AIDS treatment have dramatically improved the health of many people living with HIV/AIDS.
