A study of adherence in 133 Californians commencing HAART found that the two factors most significantly associated with better adherence (> 90%) were: * self confidence in ability to take medication as prescribed (OR 5.3) * perceived fit of regimen with daily activities (OR 9.0) Perceived fit of the regimen was also independently associated with lower plasma HIV RNA (p<0.02) Gifford AL, Bormann J E, Shively MJ et al.
