Dear Jon:
Here's a cartoon of the model for fusin action. It's deliberately vague, in
that we don't know yet whether fusin interacts with env or with CD4, and if
so, what the sequence of interactions is. We just know that fusin has to be
there along with CD4 for fusion (not just binding) to occur (for T-cell linetropic isolates). I hope this helps. I also have a color version.
