Dear Mr. Coleman,
This is a prospective request in lieu of the pending release of a
Health and Human Services document.
Please send me the Office of Research Integrity report on the
investigation of National Cancer Institute researcher Robert
Gallo and his former virologist, Mikulas Popovic, as per the
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). HHS regulations stipulate that
this document becomes public as soon as an appeal is filed by any
party charged with scientific misconduct. Please consider this
request active immediately upon reciept of an appeal from any of
the involved scientists.
If documents are denied in part or in whole, please specify which
exemption(s) is (are) claimed for each passage or whole document
denied. As I expect to appeal any denials, please specify the
office and address to which an appeal should be directed. I am a
contributing correspondent to Science magazine and believe my
request qualifies for a waiver of fees since the release of the
requested information would primarily benefit the general public
and be "in the public interest."

for in the Freedom of Information Act.
