interviewee at the entrance to the Media Centre. Unaccompanied interviewees will not be allowed access to the Media Centre. On completion of the interview, kindly escort guests back to the entrance of the Media Centre. Location The Media Centre is located in Hall C, Level 300 (one floor above ground) in the MTCC's North Building. All sessions are held in the South Building, which is accessible via an indoor, climate-controlled walkway. Opening Hours Media Centre operations begin on Saturday, 12 August at 12:00. The Media Centre will be staffed between 08:00 and 20:00 each day, and will remain accessible 24 hours per day until 24:00 on Friday, 18 August. After 20:00 each evening, all entrances to the MTCC will be locked. Therefore, after 20:00 media should use the disabled access on the level immediately below the Media Centre to enter and leave the building. This access point is located directly opposite room 206B on Level 200. Media Information Office A Media Information Office at the entrance of the Media Centre will assist journalists with background information. A multi-lingual communications staff will be on hand to assist journalists with stories and facilitate interviews with conference officials before and during the event. Each of the conference co-organizers, including UNAIDS, will have an information booth in the Media Centre, and will have staff available to answer questions and assist with questions and data requests. Documents Centre A documents counter in the Media Centre will provide journalists with hard copies of official daily press releases, statements made by plenary speakers, heads of state and governments and from selected track sessions. Kindly note that while every effort is made to have these statements available to you in good time, delays are sometimes unavoidable, and we ask for your patience in these cases. Materials will also be made available electronically, through the online Programme-at-aGlance on the conference website and/or through our online partner, kaisernetwork.orq. Photos Photographic coverage of the conference proceedings will be provided. High-resolution photographs will be available for download on the Virtual Media Centre page of the AIDS 2006 website. Third-party Press Releases and Materials A special area near the Document Centre will be available for third-party press releases and materials. Lockers A limited number of individual lockers will be made available on a first-come, firstserved basis. Journalists using the lockers will need to bring their own locks. The conference will not be liable for any items placed in the lockers. (updated 28 July)
