Scale Up HIV/AIDS Management and Rehabilitation Skills Building Room 11, Level 200 Tuesday 15 August 10:45-12:15 English Frontline workers in the field of groups, NGOs working on HIV/AIDS, representatives of students' bodies The workshop is aimed at sensitizing people on the orphaned and the vulnerable children in our society. The workshop will use role-play to disseminate information to participants on some of the problems that the infected/affected children face. Participants will be sensitized to the legal implications of neglecting the orphaned and the vulnerable child, as well as learn of the legal structures which protect them. Facilitator: Bediako Alexander, Ghana care and services for PLWHA in the community In addition to the need for public education, prevention, and treatment, it is time to provide rehabilitative services for PLWHA who need jobs, vocational training, financial assistance, hostels, halfway houses, day activity centres, recreational facilities, etc. Facilitator: Char-Nie CHEN, Hong Kong, China TUSB10 Venue: Date: Time: Language: Target audience: Building Community Sector Accountability using the NGO Code of Practice Skills Building Room 10, Level 200 Tuesday 15 August 10:45-12:15 English Staff of NGOs and CBOs and other civil 06 C Affiiate Evnt society organizations. This workshop is a joint initiative of the International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO), GNP+, Care International, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), International HIV/AIDS Alliance and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The workshop will focus on building skills among NGOs and CBOs to improve their organizational management and programme delivery capacity. This workshop will use the 'Code of Good Practice for NGOs Responding to HIV/AIDS' as a tool to build a shared vision of principles for good practice in programming and advocacy work to which NGOs can commit to and be held accountable for. Skills will be built around organizational planning including meaningful involvement of PLWHA and vulnerable communities, fostering multi-sectoral partnerships for a coordinated response, transparent governance, good organizational management including human resources and financial resources, programme planning, implementation and transparent monitoring and evaluation to ensure that programmes are effective, evidence-based, rights-based, non-discriminatory, inclusive, equitable and respond to community needs.
