Week Long Activities Visual Works of a POSITIVE Mind Artists are gifted with an innate ability to affect, educate and move people. Using visual media to respond to how HIV/ AIDS has affected themselves and their communities, artists have been at the forefront of the AIDS movement since its beginnings. Visual works inspire dialogue and bring recognition to such issues as: access to treatment, political and social dimensions bf HIV, stigma and discrimination. Numerous works are on display in the Global Village - Visual Gallery and throughout the galleries in the City of Toronto. Personal 3X6 foot panels of symbolizing fabric are sewn into 12 X 12 foot sections that become part of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The world embraced the idea of the quilt and there are now more than 35 countries with national AIDS Memorial Quilts.
