Final Program [International Conference on AIDS (14th: 2002: Barcelona, Spain)]

Media Center Located in PalaciO 2 of the Fira de Barcelona, the Media Center serves the needs of journalists covering the Conference. This enclosed area will be open 24 hours a day for accredited media. Information and document desks are set up to assist journalists in their coverage. These will be staffed daily from 08.oo00 to 20.00oo. Available services include individual work stations, telephone, fax and modem connections, as well as networked computers. Special booths will be available for the broadcast media. Interview rooms can also be requested. Throughout the center, television screens will carry the Conference's main events, the plenary sessions, as well as the main press conferences. Access to the Media Center is granted only to Conferenceaccredited journalists. Mobile Phone Rental The official mobile phone provider is Rent a Phone Barcelona S.L. Mobile phones can be rented at their stand in Palacio 5, level 0 throughout the Conference. On-site and Web-based Publications In addition to the Final Program, the Abstract Books (in paper format or CD-ROM) and a copy of Xiulet (the Conference newsletter), participants receive a free daily newspaper summarizing the events of the previous day. The Conference newspaper also gives details of program changes and highlights special events planned for that day. Throughout the conference, a team of sixty Key Correspondents (KCs) working together with rapporteurs will be speaking with delegates, attending sessions and workshops and interviewing speakers - to write reports of the main and emerging issues coming to light during the week. The KC reports will be in the daily on-site newspaper, on the conference web site, in the eForum postings, and in the final conference report (www.hdnet.org). PWA Lounge - Lounge for People Living with HIV/AIDS A comfort lounge, located in Palacio 4 level o, will provide facilities for rest and relaxation, food service, bottled water, refreshments, information exchange, and will serve as a gathering place for people living with HIV/AIDS. Please respect the privacy and usage of this lounge. Facilities will be available for those who need to take medication. Services for People with Disabilities Barcelona has international standard facilities for the physically challenged, including access ramps and toilets for people in wheelchairs. The Conference will provide a shuttle service between La Fira de Barcelona and Palau St. Jordi for the physically challenged, with the following schedule: Sunday July 7 18:30-23:oo00 Monday July 8-Thursday July 11i o7:3o-10:30 Friday July 12 07:30-14:00 The bus stop will be located on Av. Maria Christina, next to the towers. The exact location can be checked on the venue map in the inside cover of this publication. Simultaneous Interpretation English is the official language of the conference. However, simultaneous interpretation into French and Spanish will be available for the plenary sessions and for the opening and closing ceremonies. Interpretation from English into Spanish will be provided for Track F sessions held in Hall 5:7, Track G sessions held in Hall 2:2, and for Bridging sessions held in Hall 1:2. Sessions providing simultaneous interpretation will be marked with ( and Skills Building Facilitator Workroom The Skills Building Facilitator Workroom is located in Palacio 5, level 0. It will be open from Sunday July 7 to Thursday July 11, from 08:oo00 to 18:oo. This is a work space exclusively for Workshop facilitators, equipped with 4 computers, 2 printers and a photocopier. Technical support is provided. Smoking policy Smoking in the Conference venue is not permitted, except in designated smoking areas, which are clearly marked. Speaker Service Center The Speaker Service Center is located on level 0 of Palacio 5 of the Fira de Barcelona. Equipment for PowerPoint presentations will be available, as this form of presentation is required, and staff will be on hand to scan any slides not already in PowerPoint format Web Cafes Web caf6 facilities are available in Palacio 2, level 0 and Palacio 5, level 0, where delegates can browse the Internet, visit the official Conference website, and use the Conference Itineray Builder. Temporary Conference e-mail addresses can be created by using your Conference registration number and following the instructions given at the web cafes. 270 Final Programe
