Program Supplement [International Conference on AIDS (14th: 2002: Barcelona, Spain)]
Leadership Satellite Sessions sponsored by the International AIDS Trust and UNAIDS Keeping AIDS at the Top of the Agenda A Strategic Dialogue Among World Leaders Global experience to date has clearly demonstrated that strong and committed leadership from the top is vital to shaping a successful national and international response to HIV/AIDS. In countries that have achieved real results, leaders have made it a priority to educate the public about HIV/AIDS and to create a framework for a partnership between government, non-governmental organizations, affected communities, and donors. Meeting the goals laid out in the UN Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS will require champions at all levels of society. This satellite session will consist of a facilitated dialogue among current and former Heads of States from regions most affected by the pandemic and donor nations to discuss action-oriented leadership strategies for enhancing momentum in the global battle against AIDS.
