Hall 5, Room 6 4yUnited States Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration Description of the Session: This satellite session will address the challenges of providing HIV and AIDS care in a variety of community-based settings. Strategies such as partnering, outreach programs, inclusion of affected populations and planning grants to reach communities in need will be discussed. Model programs will be pre- sented and session participants will be encouraged to actively - oparticipate in the discussions. Issues related to the manage- ment of drugs in community-based settings such as the use _ of HAART and adherence to medications will be presented. A _ panel of health care workers will discuss needs and methods _of training staff in community-based programs. The target audience for this session is clinicians and other providers of care in community-based organizations and NGO's, local health officials and community workers. Session Overview...
