Rapporteur Sessions Plenary Hall, General Motors Place Thursday, 19:00 - 21:00 The final day of the Conference will feature summary sessions in each track. Rapporteurs will summarise and synthesise Conference presentations, focusing on critical questions and issues. YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS The Conference organisers are pleased to announce that eight presenting authors have been chosen to receive a "Young Investigator Award." These cash awards go to the authors of the two highest-scoring abstracts in each track submitted by an author 35 years old or younger The abstracts were reviewed in a blinded fashion and scored by the 700 member International Scientific Committee. These eight winners will be announced during the Conference and will be profiled in the Conference newspaper, The Daily Progress. AnotherYoung Investigator was identified earlier to receive a travel grant to attend the Conference.This award was funded by the journal AIDS published by Rapid Science. It was presented to the presenting author of the highest scoring poster submitted by a researcher from the developing world. The recipient is Sukhontha Kongsin of Thailand whose poster appears on Monday in Track C, Session 107. Her poster number is Mo.C. 120. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS to Speakers, Chairs, Moderators and Poster Presenters Speakers' Centre The Speakers' Centre is located in the Harbourview Room on the Cruise Ship Level of the VancouverTrade & Convention Centre (VTCC). Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday July 7 - II from 08:00 to 19:00.The Speakers' Centre is available to service the needs of all oral presenters, moderators, facilitators, and chairs of afternoon sessions taking place at the VTCC and Waterfront. Projection facilities are available to view slides. Procedures for Oral Presenters Oral presenters of abstracts and invited speakers at the VTCC are kindly asked to observe the following procedures: * Report to the Speakers' Centre at least 24 hours before the scheduled time of presentation to check-in and drop off your slides (for which you will be given a receipt).You will be asked to transfer your slides to a carrousel which will be sealed, identified with your name, session, and any special instructions, and stored in the Speakers' Centre until your session begins. Conference staff will ensure your slides are delivered to the session in which you are presenting; * To ease their transfer to a carrousel, make sure that each slide is marked on the front at the bottom left corner; * Sign consent forms to allow Conference staff to record sessions; * Meet with session chairs inside the designated room (on the stage) 15 minutes before the session begins; * During the presentation, please conform to the instructions regarding the length of your oral presentation. Session chairs are instructed to end lectures that exceed their allotted time; * Collect your slides from the Speakers' Centre after your session. Note: Session rooms are not equipped with overhead projectors. Only slides can be used as visual aids. Chairs of Afternoon Sessions An instructional meeting for each day's chairs and moderators will take place daily at 12:30 in the Speakers' Centre. Light food will be provided.The meeting will begin at 12:30 sharp. Meet the Expert Session Participants Delegates participating as experts or moderators in Meet the Expert Sessions at BC Place are welcome to use the Speakers' Centre to meet with colleagues and prepare for sessions. Please meet with your fellow experts in the session room at BC Place (Banquet Rooms A - D) 15 minutes before your session begins. For more information, look for the Meet the Expert Information Kiosk in Poster Area "D" in the Poster and Exhibit Hall. Procedures for Facilitators of Skills Building Workshops Skills Building Workshop facilitators may register at the regular Registration Desk at BC Place (Level 4) or if you prefer, at the registration kiosk at the VTCC. * Skills Building rooms are equipped with slide projectors, overheads, and flipcharts; * Facilitators requiring assistance should check in at the Community Liaison Office at the VTCC (Room 16); * All related services will be available in Room 16 except for the checking of slides. If you are planning to use slides please report to the Speakers' Centre 24 hours in advance of your session as per instructions to Oral Presenters; * Facilitators are required to attend the facilitator debriefing from 17:30 - 18:30 in VTCC, Room 7 on the day of your session. o', 0 u cC3 < c 0 Q) O u C 4 0 c0 U C c L a) c 4 47
