DELEGATE SERVICES A variety of Delegate Services are available at each venue.The main Delegate Services area is located at BC Place (Level 2) with a slightly smaller service in the lobby of the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre (VTCC). General Motors Place (the Plenary Hall) will offer selected services. (see "Hours" page 13)To receive information by phone about these services, please contact the telephone numbers provided on the following pages and in your Conference Pocket Guide. Abstract Volume Sales Delegates can purchase additional Abstract Volumes at Merchandise Stores for $65 (CAD). (BC Place, Level 2 and VTCC, Main Lobby) Accommodation and Air Travel Information Desk UNIGLOBE Advance Travel consultants are on-site to assist you with any accommodation inquiries.They can also assist you with.air travel and car rentals. A service fee may apply for any airline inquiries, changes or confirmations on bookings not originally made through UNIGLOBE Advance Travel. (BC Place, Level 2). Tel: 661 7255 AIDS Literature Tables Tables are available for delegates to distribute AIDS-related information. These tables will be tidied by volunteers, but information must be replenished by the delegate wishing to distribute information. (BC Place, Level 2 and VTCC, Concourse) Audio Cassettes of Sessions Audio cassette recordings of the following sessions are available for sale during the Conference: * Opening and Closing Ceremonies * Plenary Sessions * Rapporteur Sessions * Meet the Expert Sessions * 12 Concurrent Sessions atVTCC These cassettes are available at the ISTS/Telav kiosks from Monday July 8 - Thursday, July II. Cassettes can be purchased for $12 (CAD) each. (VTCC, Main Lobby) Banking and Currency Exchange Facilities are available at Gate D on Level 2 of BC Place to exchange currency or travellers' cheques for Canadian currency or pre-loaded Cash Cards (see below). The following currencies and travellers' cheques will be accepted for exchange: Currencies US Dollars British Pounds French Francs German Marks Japanese Yen Australian Dollars Swiss Francs New Zealand Dollars Travellers' Cheques American Express Thomas Cook Visa For further services, several major financial institutions and currency exchanges are located within blocks of both venues. Automatic teller machines are also available at each site for those delegates wishing to use bank cards. Business Centres Business Centres are available to delegates and offer general office and secretarial services and supplies for a fee. Services available include photocopying, facsimile, word processing and internet access. Participants requiring services outside scheduled hours are advised to check the business services available at hotels. (BC Place, Level 2, Tel: 661 7262 / Fax: 661 726 I; VTCC - Meeting Level 2, Room 10, Tel: 64/ 1575, Fax: 64/ 1574) Cash Cards If you would like to avoid carrying cash for meals, souvenirs, and incidentals, VanCity Visa Cash Cards are available in $20 and $50 (CAD) denominations. The cards can be used at select vendors, primarily at BC Place.The Cash Cards can be purchased at the VanCity bank at BC Place Stadium where a list of participating vendors is also posted. Community Information Centre A special information centre for community delegates will be located in the heart of the NGO exhibit area in the Exhibit and Poster Hall. Stop by to pick up the latest issue of Voices and to find out what's planned for the week of the Conference. (BC Place) Continuing Medical Education Certificates Delegates wishing to receive CME credits can stop by the CME kiosk in the Delegate Services area to obtain a certificate. (BC Place, Level 2) Courier Services - United Parcel Services (UPS) The United Parcel Service (UPS) ships to destinations across the country and around the world. Services at their kiosk range from delivery of overnight documents to package freight shipments. For more information, call I 800 PICK UPS. (BC Place, Level 2) Please note that local courier services are offered in the Business Centres. Cultural Program Tickets Some Cultural Program events may require the purchase of tickets.Tickets may be obtained at the TicketMaster Kiosk at BC Place Stadium or any other TicketMaster outlet located throughout the city. Order tickets by phone by calling 280 4444. (Gate D, Level 2) Daily Newspaper A daily Conference newspaper The Daily Progress is provided free-of-charge to participants each morning. A team of 10 professional writers and photographers will report on and review highlights of the Conference. The Daily Progress will also summarise any changes to the program and inform delegates of special events planned for that day.
