Putting Service Back into AIDS Service Organisations
This session uses interactive theatre techniques to explore the challenges facing
community service organisations, specifically the communication between staff,
volunteers, boards and communities. Participants will learn techniques to break
through the bureaucratic and political agendas to return to primary
organisational mandates.

Writing a Funding Proposal
This workshop offers a critical look at what makes an effective funding proposal.
An international funder and an experienced proposal writer will help participants develop
guidelines for proposals for various target audiences. Participants should bring their own

Social Marketing: Improving Design of
HIV Prevention Interventions
This is an overview of consumer-centered intervention design, and how social
marketing tools and methodologies can enhance targetted community HIV prevention
efforts. Participants will develop skills to specify and prioritise target audience segments
and behavioural objectives, to define the four Ps (product, price, place, and promotion) of a
marketing strategy and to apply them to design of an HIV prevention program.

Managing Nutrition in the Face of Poverty
What constitutes appropriate nutrition for PLWH/As? How can these nutritional
targets be met Participants will identify nutritional priorities for people living
with HIV/AIDS, and explore practical strategies to improve nutrition in their
communities using a 'client-centered' model of care.

Training PLWH/A Peer Counsellors 4
This workshop will enable participants to develop PLWH/A peer counselling in their home
settings.The workshop will explore the attitudes, knowledge and skills required to be an
effective peer counsellor. Participants are encouraged to bring stories and critical incidents
that demonstrate local counselling needs.
