Lockers A number of lockers are located in the Print Work Area of the Media Centre. Keys may be purchased at the Media Centre office for $10 (CAD). In addition, equipment may be secured overnight in a locked office of the Media Centre. However, the Conference can take no responsibility for lost or stolen equipment or personal belongings. Media Relation Officers More than 100 volunteer Media Relations Officers (MROs) have been trained to assist you in finding all the information you need, including setting up interviews. Comprehensive lists of speakers, spokespersons and events are available at the Media Centre. Media Relations Officers can be identified by the distinctive MEDIA RELATIONS OFFICER button. MROs are located at the Media Centre and at the Information Desk at the VTCC. Message Centre Easy to use, confidential voice mail Message Centres are located at all Conference venues, including one terminal in the Print Work Area of the Canon International Media Centre. All terminals are linked so messages may be left and received on any terminal.To use the Message Centre system, simply follow the instructions on the touch screen. Message Centres operate during Conference hours. News Conferences and Briefings The only News Conferences and Briefings held in the Media Centre are those organised by the Conference (see page 6). Numerous media events at other venues are scheduled throughout the week and notice of these will be posted in the Print Work Area and Broadcast Centre. Newspapers The Conference produces an overnight newspaper, The Daily Progress, which is distributed on-site every morning. The Georgia Straight, a Vancouver entertainment weekly is the Official Print Media Partner of the Cultural Program and will list complete information on the Conference Cultural Program and Public Forum Series.This paper can be found at all Conference venues. Parking There are a number of commercial parking lots in close proximity to General Motors Place. Parking under General Motors Place is open from 08:30 - 17:00. A daily parking charge is applicable.There are only a few parking facilities near the VTCC. Photo Services There is no darkroom at the Canon International Media Centre. Film may be purchased at the Winning Spirit store at General Motors Place. Hours are: Saturday July 6 09:30 - 17:30 Sunday,July 7 1I 1:00- 17:00 Monday -Thursday 10:00 - 18:00 Simultaneous Interpretation of Sessions The Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as the Plenary Sessions will be simultaneously interpreted into French and Spanish. Receivers are available at General Motors Place. French and Spanish audio feeds for broadcasters are explained on pages 4 and 5. Special Sessions Meet the Expert sessions and Skills Building Workshops are not open to the media. Interviews with facilitators and/or participants may be arranged through the Media Centre.
