UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE, PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO * Describe the relationship between human immunodeficiency virus and the major opportunistic pathogens * Report on new modalities for prophylaxis and treatment of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, Mycobacterium avium complex, and herpesvirus infections * Improve the overall clinical management of persons at risk for or suffering from opportunistic infections The University of Alabama School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (AACME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
