PROCEDURES FOR SPEAKERS
We kindly ask speakers to observe the following procedures:
* Report to the Speakers' Centre at least 24 hours before the scheduled time of
presentation. Speakers scheduled for Monday must report to the Speakers' Centre
on Sunday, 19 July immediately after registering.
* Drop off your slides at the Speakers' Centre when you report there. Be sure that
all slides are numbered in the top right-hand corner in order of presentation, and
that your name is on the first slide. Your slides will be transferred to Conferencecompatible slide carrousels at the Speakers' Centre. Projection facilities will also be
available to view your slides. Your slides will then be sealed, identified with your
name and any special instructions, and stored in the Speakers' Centre. Your slides
will be taken to your session room at the time of your session.
* Sign a "Speaker's Release Form" to make your presentation available on audio tapes,
as well as in any published proceedings.
* Provide a copy of your presentation and, if you wish, a press release describing your
presentation.
* Meet with session chairs, discussants, or moderators in the session hall 15 minutes
before the session begins.
* At the time of your presentation, please be certain that the length of your oral
presentation stays within the allotted time. Sessions chairs will be instructed to
terminate lectures that exceed their time allotment.
* Collect your slides from the Speakers' Centre after your session. We regret that we
cannot be responsible for returning slides not retrieved by Friday, 24 July.
PROCEDURES FOR POSTER PRESENTERS
We kindly ask poster presenters to observe the following procedures:
* Each poster board must be labelled with your poster presentation number, assigned
to you in a letter sent during the first week of June.
* Each poster must have a top banner indicating the title of the paper, the names of
the authors and their affiliations. The characters in the banners must be at least
2.5 cm (1 inch) tall.
* The Poster Help Desk is located at the entrance to the Amstel Hal. Pushpins will
be supplied in order to mount your material. Conference personnel will be on the
floor at all times to assist presenters.
* To provide ample time for all participants to view and discuss poster presentations,
each poster will be on display the entire week.
* Authors must be at their poster from 13.15 - 14.15 as follows:
Monday, 20 July and Wednesday, 22 July - even numbered boards
Tuesday, 21 July and Thursday, 23 July - odd numbered boards
* Authors are responsible for setting up and removing their posters themselves according
to the schedule below.
KEY TO NUMBERING OF ORAL ABSTRACTS
The presentations (oral abstracts, round table, poster discussions, poster display and
publications are grouped by day and by thematic track as follows:
Volume 1. Final Program & Oral Abstracts
Volume 2: Poster Abstracts
Volume 3: Published Abstracts & Indices
This Volume consists of all abstracts that will be presented during the oral abstract
sessions and some round table sessions. The abstracts are grouped according to the
session themes per day and track.

Please Note: Posters not removed by
Friday, 24 July at 16.00 will be
removed by Conference staff and
discarded. The VIII International
Conference on AIDS/III STD World
Congress cannot accept liability for
lost or damaged posters.
