New Call for Abstracts and Registration [International Conference on AIDS (8th: 1992: Amsterdam, Netherlands)]

Guidelines for Abstract Submission Authors of research papers are encouraged to submit an abstract for review. The 1992 Conference offers two options for abstract preparation. Abstracts presented under the first option should contain concise statements of: 1. the study objectives, the hypothesis to be tested, or a description of the problem; 2. method(s) used or approach taken; 3. specific results in summarized form (with appropriate statistical analysis); and 4. discussion, implications, and conclusions. All abstracts should disclose primary findings and not include promissory statements such as "experiments are in progress" or "results will be discussed." The second option for abstract preparation is intended to recognize the vital work in AIDS and STD prevention, care, health and social services, human rights, and policy that is being performed by individuals and organizations that may not be conducting formal research projects. The Conference organizers encourage submission of abstracts which describe any work that significantly advances understanding. In particular, we welcome submission of abstracts by people with HIV/AIDS and by individuals and community-based groups responding to AIDS. Abstracts that describe work other than formal research activities should include: 1. a one to two sentence statement of the issue(s) the abstract addresses; 2. a brief description of the project, experience, service, research, or advocacy; 3. a brief description of the results of the project; 4. a summary of the lessons learned and their implications. All submissions, regardless of which option for presentation is selected, should be made on the Abstract Form. Rules for Abstract Submission The Rule of One will apply: an investigator may serve as the presenting author on only one abstract submission, although an individual may be listed as a co-author on any number of submissions. The presenting author is asked to sign a statement of compliance on the Abstract Form. The practice of submitting redundant abstracts covering similar work with resequenced authors is not permitted. Note: Abstracts accepted for presentation will be printed in the Abstract Volume of the VIII International Conference on AIDS/III STD World Congress in exactly the form and condition submitted by the authors. Submission acknowledges your consent to our publication of the abstract in the Abstract Volume. Your close attention to the appear ance of your abstract and the following rules for abstract submission will greatly enhance the quality of the Abstract Volume and increase the chance of your submission being accepted for presentation. 1.
