                                  Be þe vesselle never swa wyde wyth-in,
                                
                                  Has water bath with-in and with-out,
                                
                                  Binethen, oboven, and alle about,

                                  And na mare water with-in may hald,
                                
                                  Ne nane other thing þat lycoure es cald,
                                
                                  Right swa þe ryghtwise salle have ioy, mare
                                
                                  Þan þai may think or yhern þare;

                                  Salle in helle fele payns strang and hard;

                                  Ma þan hert may thynk or tong telle.
                                
                                  Þe sevend blys es endeles lyfe,
                                
                                  Þat þe saved salle have, with-outen stryfe,

                                  Ever-mare in heven swa heghe;
                                
                                  Ffor þai salle ay lyf and never deghe,
                                
                                  And with God alle-myghty þare ay won,
                                
                                  Þat es sothfast Fader, and sothfast Son,

                                  And þe Haly Gast in Trinité;
                                
                                  And in þat lyfe his face þai salle ay se.
                                
                                  Now if a man moght lyf here,
                                
                                  In þis world a thowsand yhere,

                                  And fra þis world bihoved him wende.
