                                  Seke I was, and bedred lay,
                                
                                  And yhe visite me nouther nyght ne day;
                                
                                  In prison I was, als wele wyst yhe,
                                  Line 6200 
                                
                                  And yhe wald na tyme com til me.'
                                
                                  Þan sal þai answere, als men sal here,
                                
                                  Til our loverd, and say on þis manere:
                                
                                  'Loverd when saw we þe haf hunger or thrist
                                  Line 6204 
                                
                                  Or of any herber haf grete brist;
                                
                                  Or naked, or seke, or in prison be,
                                
                                  And we na thyng did ne mynystred to þe?'
                                
                                  Þan sal our loverd answer ogayne
                                  Line 6208 
                                
                                  And say til þam þir wordes certayne:
                                
                                  'Suthly I say yhou, als falles þar-to,
                                
                                  Alle tyme þat yhe wald noght do
                                
                                  Til ane of lest þat myne er kydde,
                                  Line 6212 
                                
                                  Als lang til me yhe noght didde.'
                                
                                  Þus sal our loverd reherce openly
                                
                                  Til rightwys men, þe werkes of mercy,
                                
                                  For to make þam openly kyd,
                                  Line 6216 
                                
                                  Til grete worshepe of þam þat þam dyd;
                                
                                  And shew til þe synful, als falles þar-to,
                                
                                  Þair unkyndenes, þat wyld noght do
                                
                                  Þe werkes of mercy for his luf,
                                  Line 6220 
                                
                                  Til þair grete shenshepe and repruve.
                                
                                  When he has þus sayde and made ende,
                                
                                  Þe synful with þe devels sal wende
                                
                                  Until helle fire, þat never sal slake.
                                  Line 6224 
                                
                                  A ful hidus cry þan sal þai make,
                                
                                  And say 'allas! þat we ever war wroght.
                                
                                  In manskynd; whyne war we noght!
                                
                                  Whyne had God made us swa,
                                  Line 6228 
                                
                                  Þat us thurt never haf feled wele ne wa!
                                
                                  Now sal we bryn in þe fire of helle,
                                
                                  And with-outen ende þar-in duelle.'
                                
                                  Helle þan þam sal swelghe als-tite
                                  Line 6232 
                                
                                  With-outen any lenger respyte;
                                
                                  And alle þe fire þat þan sal be sene,
                                
                                  And alle þe corrupcions þat ever has bene,
